1 year agoOakland Athletics catcher/first baseman Tyler Soderstrom is absent from Tuesday's starting lineup for the game against the Boston Red Sox. With left-hander Joe Jacques on the bump, it might be a sign that the club wants to limit the left-handed rookie against southpaws. So far, through four games, Soderstrom owns a .231/.333/.231 slash line with no home runs. Jordan Diaz will take his spot in the lineup and bat third. The 22-year-old's offered some pop over 35 games with six home runs but is batting .238 with no speed. Still, fantasy managers in deeper leagues may want to take a chance on the young power bat in hopes he goes yard.--Spencer Seguin
