Tyler Soderstrom Homers Twice
1 year agoOakland Athletics top prospect Tyler Soderstrom hit his 18th and 19th home runs of the 2023 Triple-A season in a game for Triple-A Las Vegas. He has been on fire this month, slashing .273/.305/.662 with nine home runs, 13 runs, 22 RBI, and one stolen base. Although Ryan Noda and Shea Langeliers appear to have solidified their starting roles at first base and catcher, Soderstrom should be able to string together starts at the major-league level. He will at least supplant 32-year-old Carlos Perez, who has lately taken starts as a catcher, first baseman, and DH for Oakland despite having a career 64 OPS+. He will likely get a call-up soon, making him a priority stash.
