Tyler Soderstrom Exits Early Tuesday With Right-Calf Tightness
5 days agoAthletics first baseman Tyler Soderstrom (calf) exited Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Padres early with right-calf tightness, per MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. The 23-year-old had a baserunner collide with his right leg while reaching for a high throw at first base earlier in the game, but he was able to stay in the game before being pinch-hit for by Max Schuemann in the eighth inning. Soderstrom went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk before exiting. He should be considered day-to-day until any further news comes out. Hopefully, the move was just precautionary, as Soderstrom has gotten off to a great start at the plate, slashing .378/.440/.822 with six home runs and 10 RBI in 50 plate appearances.
