Tyler Rogers Earns Second Consecutive Save Monday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers picked up his second consecutive save and fifth of the season in Monday's 6-3 win over the Reds. Rogers entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff single, got a double play, had a runner reach on a Brandon Crawford throwing error, and then got the third out. The side-armer now has three saves in his last four games. Jake McGee had seen the most saves for the Giants to start the season but has struggled lately, while Rogers has been the Giants' best reliever with a 0.73 ERA and 10 holds. It looks like Gabe Kapler may be deciding to use his best reliever in the ninth inning more frequently, which could have a huge positive impact on Rogers' fantasy value.
