Tyler Rogers Earns First Save Of Season Sunday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers picked up his first save of the season in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Marlins. The side-armer entered the game in the ninth inning up by one and pitched a 1-2-3 inning with no strikeouts. While Rogers was mentioned as a possible closer candidate to start the season, that position has firmly gone to his teammate Jake McGee (vaccine reaction). However, with McGee not feeling well after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, Rogers may see a couple of save opportunities in the near future. He has pitched well this season, compiling a 0.84 ERA with six holds, but without the saves he has little fantasy value except in saves/holds leagues.
