Tyler Rogers Earns 1-2-3 Save Friday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers picked up his seventh save of the season in Friday's 8-5 win over the Cubs. Rogers entered the game to pitch the ninth inning up by three and pitched a 1-2-3 inning without any strikeouts to slam the door. It was nice to see a rebound performance from Rogers, who blew the save in his last appearance. Rogers has been the Giants' best reliever this season and now has converted seven of 10 save opportunities with a 1.57 ERA. Teammate Jake McGee pitched the eighth inning of Friday's game once again, so it looks like Rogers is the team's new tentative closer for the time being.
