Tyler Roger Blows Save Wednesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers blew his fourth save of the season in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Rangers. Rogers came into the game to pitch the ninth inning with a one-run lead. He allowed a leadoff single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa, who then stole second base. Rogers got the first out on a line-out that advanced Falefa to third, then allowed an RBI single to Adolis Garcia, who was tagged out trying to stretch the hit into a double. He then got the third out with the game tied. Rogers stayed on to pitch the 10th inning with the Giants up a run again and allowed the automatic runner on second to score and tie the game once more. His final stat line was two runs allowed (one earned) through two IP on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts. The side-armer has pitched well overall this season and has seen most of the team's save situations lately, so he still holds relatively high fantasy value.
