Baltimore Orioles outfielder Tyler O'Neill (illness) is expected to be back in the lineup on Monday, according to manager Brandon Hyde. The right-handed slugger is currently considered day-to-day with a minor illness. It's not shocking to see the O's taking the safe approach and giving O'Neill some rest this early in camp. O'Neill signed a three-year deal with the O's in the offseason. He figures to slide right into the middle of the lineup and should benefit from playing half his games in a hitter-friendly ballpark.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that outfielder Tyler O'Neill (neck) is out of Thursday's starting lineup against the hosting Washington Nationals with the same neck soreness that he dealt with last week. Hyde is hoping that O'Neill will be available off the bench on Thursday. Ramon Laureano is drawing the start in right field and is hitting seventh against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore, who he has hit .833 against with three RBI in six career at-bats. The 29-year-old O'Neill missed two games last week with the neck injury, and it could turn into an injured-list situation if it doesn't clear up by the weekend. For now, though, fantasy managers should consider the Canadian outfielder to be day-to-day. O'Neill has gotten off to a poor start in his first year in Baltimore, hitting .215 (14-for-65) with two homers, 10 RBI and 21 K's in 74 trips to the plate. He's gone 1-for-20 with 11 K's in his last five games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Tyler O'Neill (neck) remains out of the starting nine on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians. O'Neill was held out of the starting lineup on Wednesday due to neck discomfort. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status leading up to their contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday evening. With O'Neill sitting out, Ryan O'Hearn will cover right field and bat in the four-hole. During his first 15 games in Baltimore, O'Neill has enjoyed an impressive start, holding a .265/.339/.490 slash line with three doubles and two round-trippers. Under the hood, he has generated a strong .370 xwOBA with an elite 18.4 percent barrel rate. O'Hearn is worth a look in DFS facing right-hander Tanner Bibee, who enters Thursday with a 4.40 ERA.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Tyler O'Neill (neck) has been scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup against the visiting Cleveland Guardians due to neck discomfort, according to The Baltimore Banner's Andy Kostka. Ramon Laureano will replace O'Neill in left field and hit ninth in the batting order against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. O'Neill, who has missed his fair share of time due to injuries in his career, should be considered day-to-day for now, but don't be surprised if he misses additional time. The O's wrap up their series against Cleveland on Thursday before starting a new weekend series on Friday against the visiting Cincinnati Reds. Laureano should be considered a long shot to return much DFS value in the nine-hole. He's gone 1-for-13 so far this year and has gone hitless in three career at-bats against Williams.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Tyler O'Neill will start Monday's series opener against the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on the bench. The left-handed-hitting Ryan O'Hearn will start in right field and will bat third against D-backs right-hander Zac Gallen. O'Neill homered yet again on Opening Day to get off to a nice start in his first year in Baltimore, and he's continued to hit well in his first nine games, going 11-for-33 (.333) with three doubles, a triple, seven RBI, six runs scored, three walks and eight strikeouts in 37 plate appearances. Expect O'Neill to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday in Phoenix. O'Hearn should be a popular DFS sleeper on Tuesday in the matchup against Gallen, who he has hit .375 against with two RBI in a small sample size of eight at-bats. O'Hearn is searching for his first homer of 2025 and has gone 6-for-22 with three runs scored early on.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
