Tyler Naquin Unlikely To Start On Tuesday
4 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Tyler Naquin (wrist) is unlikely to start on Tuesday against San Diego. The 30-year-old is currently dealing with right wrist soreness, and he also wasn't in the lineup on Monday, opening the door for Shogo Akiyama to get some extra work out in center field. Although Naquin might be available off the bench, he still likely won't do enough to warrant a start in most fantasy formats.

Keston Hiura, Tyler Naquin Won't Make Brewers Roster
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers informed out-of-options infielder Keston Hiura and non-roster outfielder Tyler Naquin on Friday that they will not make the team's Opening Day roster out of spring training. Hiura was scratched from Friday's Cactus League game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Milwaukee will now attempt to trade him before Opening Day next Thursday. The 26-year-old will likely go on waivers if no team wants to trade for him. He has decent power but doesn't make enough contact and strikes out far too often to be a lineup regular for most teams. Naquin, 31, could choose to opt out of his minor-league deal in order to latch on with another team in 2023. However, his poor performance at the plate this spring probably doesn't have many teams looking his way.

Tyler Naquin Back In Cactus League Lineup
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyler Naquin (shoulder) is back in the Cactus League lineup on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox and right-handed starter Lance Lynn, starting in right field and batting fifth in the order. Naquin has missed a couple of games while dealing with minor shoulder discomfort, but he'll be back in the fold Tuesday. The 31-year-old has only played in three spring games to this point and has gone 2-for-8 with two doubles, one RBI and three strikeouts in nine plate appearances. He's hoping to win an Opening Day roster spot with Milwaukee after hitting a combined .229/.282/.423 with a .705 OPS, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, 47 runs scored and four stolen bases in 105 games with the Reds and Mets in 2022. If he makes the Brewers roster, he'll have limited playing time against right-handers.
