Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Tyler Mahle earned his fourth win of the season Friday in a 7-2 game over the Padres. Mahle gave up no runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings. The performance was nice to see from the 23-year-old, who had turned in three consecutive four-run outings prior to this start. He is now 4-6 with a 4.38 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP in 63 2/3 innings pitched. Fantasy owners should only send Mahle out in favorable matchups until he proves he can succeed in tougher matchups.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Texas Rangers right-hander Tyler Mahle was dominant in a 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Mahle threw six shutout innings while allowing two hits, walking three, and striking out nine to improve his record to 3-0 on the season. The veteran hurler was on top of his game in the start, picking up 18 swinging strikes against the Angels. Mahle has been excellent to start the year for the Rangers, posting a 0.92 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts over 19 2/3 innings of work. He will be put to the test in his next start, however, as he is slated to face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Texas Rangers right-hander Tyler Mahle had another strong start for the Rangers in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field to win his second game of the season. Mahle delivered a quality start for his fantasy managers by allowing only one earned run on two hits while walking one and fanning four in seven innings pitched. Although the strikeout numbers don't really jump off the page, it was an impressive outing on a chilly day in Chicago. The 30-year-old veteran, who made only eight starts combined with the Twins and Rangers the last two years due to injuries, has now pieced together three straight strong starts to begin the year after he gave up only an earned run while walking six and striking out eight in 6 2/3 innings in his first two starts against the Red Sox and Rays. Mahle's next start will come against the Angels, who have gotten off to a surprising 7-3 start.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Tyler Mahle tossed five innings of shutout ball in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Rays, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out five batters on the way to earning his first win of the season. The righty bounced back well after he was unable to get through two innings the last time out, which included walking four batters. The 30-year-old missed most of 2023 and 2024 recovering from Tommy John surgery, but posted a 4.40 ERA (3.87 FIP), 1.22 WHIP, and a 16.5 percent K-BB% during his last full season in 2022. He'll look to keep the momentum going in his next turn through the rotation when he squares off with the Cubs in Chicago.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

Texas Rangers right-hander Tyler Mahle (forearm) pitched in a minor-league game in camp on Thursday against Double-A Northwest Arkansas and allowed three runs in four innings while allowing six hits, walking none and striking out five. He threw 42 of his 55 pitches for strikes and tossed an extra 10 pitches in the bullpen after being scratched from his Cactus League start earlier this week with right-forearm tightness. The 30-year-old's MRI results didn't show any structural damage in his arm, though, and Mahle should be able to get back into a spring training game soon. It's great news for a pitcher who only made three starts in 2024 in his return from Tommy John surgery in 2023. He also missed time late last year with a shoulder injury. Because his innings will be limited in 2025, Mahle is really only worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
