Tyler Lockett announced on X that he is "excited to be a Tennessee Titan!!" Terms of Lockett's deal with Tennessee are unknown. After a career year from Jaxon-Smith Njigba in Seattle in his second season in the league in 2024, the Seahawks deemed the 32-year-old Lockett to be expendable after he caught 49 of his 74 targets for only 600 yards and two touchdowns in 14 starts. Lockett's 600 yards and two touchdowns were his lowest totals in a single season since his third year in the league in 2017. He's no longer the same wideout he was that posted four straight 1,000-yard seasons from 2019-22, but he could wind up being the Titans' No. 2 pass-catcher behind
Calvin Ridley in 2025. Lockett will most likely be working with rookie quarterback
Cam Ward, who is fully expected to be taken at No. 1 overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night.

The Seattle Seahawks aren't closing the door on a potential reunion with veteran wide receiver
Tyler Lockett, who they released for salary cap saving purposes this week. "Go out and see what's shaking (on the market), and we'll stay in touch," general manager John Schneider said he told Lockett. However, Schneider expects Lockett to draw significant interest on the free-agent market because he's a leader and "still a productive player." Seattle could be more inclined to re-sign Lockett if they end up trading
DK Metcalf before the NFL draft in April. The 32-year-old Lockett was the odd-man out in the passing attack in 2024 behind Metcalf and second-year man
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who was the team's leading receiver. Lockett had just 49 catches for 600 yards and two TDs on 72 targets, but it's not impossible that he could bounce back in 2025 in a better situation.

The Seattle Seahawks are releasing longtime wide receiver
Tyler Lockett, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 32-year-old was selected by Seattle in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft and racked up 661 receptions for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns across 161 career games in 10 seasons. Lockett has played in 15 or more games in every season of his career and has three All-Pro nods as a return specialist. Seattle opts to move on rather than pay his $17 million salary for this season, including a $5.3 million roster bonus that would have been due on March 16. While Lockett is past his prime as a consistent 1,000-yard receiver, there will likely be teams interested in his services, especially teams with young quarterbacks.

Tyler Lockett would be on the roster for the 2025 season, Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the team is "working through that" and will make a decision in the next month or so. It's not a ringing endorsement for the 32-year-old veteran pass-catcher after he fell to 49 receptions on 74 targets for 600 yards and just two touchdowns in 17 games (14 starts) in 2024 in his 10th year with Seattle. His 600 receiving yards and two TDs were his fewest since the 2017 season, his third year in the league. Lockett will have a $30.8 million salary cap figure this year, and releasing him would save the Seahawks $17 million against the cap. If Lockett doesn't take a pay cut, Seattle will most likely release him after the emergence of second-year wideout
