Tyler Lockett Heavily Considered Opting Out Of 2020
4 years agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett held a video conference with reporters on Friday and informed them that he "definitely had a lot of hesitation" about playing this year. Lockett explained that he was fearful of the effects COVID-19 could have on himself and his family. He has a preexisting heart abnormality that makes him extra cautious about the virus and multiple members of his family have asthma. Lockett said that the fact that head coach Pete Carroll and other older coaches putting themselves at risk helped him make his decision to play. He said, "I told myself if they could do it then I know I could do it." Lockett set career-highs in receptions (82) and receiving yards (1,057) last year and should be in line for another big season in 2020.
