Tyler Lockett 2021 Outlook: The Search For Fantasy Consistency Continues
3 years agoTyler Lockett has taken fantasy football players on a statistical roller coaster ride over the past two seasons. Last year, he had seven touchdown catches in his first six games with a historic 15/200/3 line in the sixth game against Arizona. He did not reach 70 yards and scored just once in his next nine outings. In 2019, Lockett had two touchdown catches and one game over 50 yards in his final seven, but still finished with 1,054 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last season, Lockett's numerical swoon can be attached to the overall struggles of the Seattle passing game, and the year before, injuries slowed him down in the second half of the campaign. But Lockett has clearly been surpassed by D.K. Metcalf as the No. 1 WR in Seattle, and there may continue to be highs and lows to ride with him from the fantasy perspectives. The Seahawks' passing game should be steadier this season, and Lockett is capable of delivering a very good fantasy line in any given week. He is capable of making amazing catches and can score from anywhere on the field, and can also stack up a lot of receptions in any game. He fits more comfortably as a WR3 in standard seasonal formats. The overall ADP of 72.8 seems reasonable, and Lockett is certainly a more ideal pick in Best Ball leagues.
