Tyler Fitzgerald Nearing Spring Debut
3 hours agoSan Francisco Giants infielder/outfielder Tyler Fitzgerald (back) is nearing his spring debut. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reported that the 27-year-old is expected to see game action later this week. Fitzgerald has been limited during the early part of camp due to a back injury. However, seeing that he is nearing his spring debut suggests his injury is quite minor. After appearing in just 10 MLB contests during the 2023 campaign, the Louisville product logged 96 contests last summer. Across this stint, Fitzgerald was able to hold his own as he posted a .280/.334/.497 slash line. He tallied 19 doubles, 15 home runs and swiped 17 bags. However, he generated a modest .292 xwOBA, which suggests he may see some regression when he returns to action. Fantasy managers should expect Fitzgerald to see most of his time at second base while seeing occasional starts in the outfield.
