Tyler Duffey Picks Up Save
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Tyler Duffey notched his first save of the season in Sunday's 8-5 victory over the Cleveland Indians in extra innings Sunday. Duffey allowed one walk but fanned two batters to lock down the win for Minnesota. The veteran reliever has now pitched two scoreless frames since allowing three runs to the Los Angeles Angels on May 20. Duffey has a pretty grim-looking Statcast page, though the most concerning trends are his massive decrease in strikeout rate and increase in barrel rate. Duffey could be in line for more saves if his fellow high-leverage relievers continue to put up shaky performances, though he is tough to rely on for fantasy purposes in 2021.
