3 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Tyler Conklin enters the Week 13 matchup against the Detroit Lions with three consecutive games of 35 yards or fewer. Currently sitting at TE13, Conklin faces a Detroit defense that is ranked 14th against opposing tight ends. Despite the Vikings being 10th in the league in pass attempts and Conklin being the third leading receiver on the team, teammates Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen command so many of the targets that not much is left for the other pass-catchers. Fantasy managers trying to navigate bye weeks or injuries to their starting tight end could look to Conklin as a streaming TE2 this week.--Aaron Knight

3 weeks agoMike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that free-agent tight end Tyler Conklin is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers. The former Jet has garnered interest from a few teams -- including New York -- but has yet to find a new home. Conklin spent the last three seasons with the Jets and seemed to be trending up. However, the addition of wide receiver Davante Adams put a damper on his production in 2024. The 29-year-old hauled in 51 passes for 449 yards on 72 targets last season, setting a career-high with four trips to the end zone. He'd be an intriguing fit in LA and would undoubtedly benefit from the play of signal-caller Justin Herbert. Conklin could provide some nice fantasy value as a Charger, as there isn't too much target competition behind wideouts Ladd McConkey and newly-acquired Mike Williams.--Alex Ciulla

1 month agoNew York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin is not expected to return in 2025, according to SNY's Connor Hughes. Sources say the Jets are showing interest in free-agent tight ends, with Juwan Johnson being the top target. If the Jets choose to sign a cheaper player, they could look to someone like John Bates. The 29-year-old Conklin will soon become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will be free to sign with any NFL team, but it's unlikely the Jets will make much of an effort to retain him. The former fifth-rounder (157th overall) of the Minnesota Vikings in 2018 out of Central Michigan caught 51 of his 72 targets for 449 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in his third year with the Jets in 2024. In his three years in New York, he accumulated 170 receptions, 1,622 receiving yards and seven TDs in 50 games (43 starts). Conklin is unlikely to be much more than a backup TE wherever he lands in free agency.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin caught two of his three targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. Conklin made his way into history books as he was on the receiving end of the 500th touchdown pass of Aaron Rodgers' career in the second quarter. The veteran tight end was quietly productive in 2024, finishing with 51 catches for 449 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games. Conklin is now slated to become an unrestricted free-agent this offseason and should have little trouble finding work with four straight 50-catch seasons under his belt.--Matt T - RotoBaller

3 months agoNew York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin (calf) is listed as questionable heading into his team's season finale against the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. Assuming Conklin is able to play through his calf injury he draws a plus matchup against a Dolphins defense that is allowing the 12th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. Conklin turned in his best fantasy performance of the season in a Week 17 loss to the Buffalo Bills and will be worth a look as a TE2 in fantasy this Sunday if he ultimately suits up on Sunday.--Matt T - RotoBaller
