Tyler Austin to Begin Reduced Suspension Friday
7 years agoMLB announced that New York Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin's suspension stemming from a benches-clearing brawl earlier this month against the Red Sox has been reduced from five games to four, and Austin will begin serving the suspension with Friday night's game against the Angels. This suspension comes at a poor time for owners in head-to-head or weekly leagues, as Austin has provided good fantasy value with five home runs, a .290 average and a .991 OPS over 17 games this year. Austin will return from his suspension on May 1 against the Houston Astros, but in the meantime the Yankees will likely go with Neil Walker at first.
