Tyler Anderson Still Struggling With Homers
6 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Tyler Anderson went six innings in a late tune-up in spring training on Wednesday, and he once again mixed potential with concern. Anderson struck out seven and only walked one, but he also gave up a pair of dingers to the lowly Royals. Obviously, not a ton can be made out of spring training performances, but home runs have plagued Anderson throughout his career. Last season, he led the National League in homers surrendered. Anderson is one of the many starting pitchers in Colorado who are dripping with potential but have a few too many bruises to allow them to become great. The 4.50 ERA-version of Anderson that has shown up each of the last two seasons is likely the one that will appear in Denver again this year.
