Tyler Allgeier Leads The Backfield
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier had 18 rushing attempts for 74 yards in the team's 17-9 Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The rookie running back had more than twice as many rushing attempts as Cordarrelle Patterson (18-8). Furthermore, he averaged 4.1 yards per rushing attempt, while the veteran averaged only 2.1 yards per game. More importantly, Allgeier has taken over as the lead back in Atlanta. He outperformed Patterson in every meaningful statistic. The rookie had 22 touches in the game compared to nine for the veteran. Next week the Falcons face the Arizona Cardinals., who have given up the eighth-most half-point PPR fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Allgeier is a solid RB2 for fantasy players in Week 17.
