2 years agoDon't sleep on Ty Gibbs at Darlington Raceway this weekend. Even though he had a wreck at Kansas last weekend, the Joe Gibbs Racing rookie still has five finishes of 13th or better in the last eight races overall. Additionally, he finished 15th here at Darlington last season while filling in for 23XI Racing. That's no easy feat at a place like Darlington. During practice on Saturday morning, Gibbs was right behind pole winner, Martin Truex, Jr., when it came to 25- and 30-lap average, and they both had similar falloff in speed when accounting for tire wear as well. It would not be surprising to see Ty Gibbs challenge for a top 10 finish in Sunday's Goodyear 400. --Jordan McAbee
