1 year agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Ty France had an excellent night at the plate on Tuesday, hitting a home run and a double while providing a game-winning, two-run single in the 10th inning to secure a 10-8 win over the hosting Kansas City Royals. The game-winner came after closer Andres Munoz blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning and helped keep the Mariners within two games of the Toronto Blue Jays for the final Wild Card spot in the American League. For the season, the 29-year-old is hitting .257 with 10 homers and a .724 OPS in 116 games, his worst production since his 69-game rookie season in 2019.
