Ty France Exits Saturday's Game Early After HBP
1 year agoSeattle Mariners infielder Ty France (elbow) exited Saturday's game against the New York Mets early after being hit by a pitch on his right elbow. He appeared to be in a lot of pain and was immediately removed from the game. The 29-year-old went 1-for-2 before leaving. Mike Ford replaced him in the top of the sixth inning. The severity of France's injury is unknown at this time, and he is considered day-to-day. France will undergo further evaluation and the Mariners will provide an update after the game. Ford should see an increase in playing time if France were to miss any games. The 31-year-old is slashing .228/.314/.491 with 13 homers and 28 RBI over 194 plate appearances in 2023.
