Two Goals From Conor Garland Lift Coyotes over Oilers
6 years agoArizona Coyotes forward Conor Garland scored two goals in Saturday night's win over Edmonton, giving him six goals in his last four games. Garland earned his goals the hard way, deflecting a shot off of his face for his first tally, which resulted in him needing 10 stitches before re-entering the game to score his second goal. The rookie forward has done a great job taking advantage of his usage on the second power-play unit, scoring three of his goals on the power play during this streak, but sustainability is a concern since he is seeing only 13:26 minutes of ice time on average over his last five games. Garland is likely a flash in the pan but can be a useful streaming option while he is on this hot streak or if he can carve out a regular role higher in the lineup.
