Twins Sign Nolan Blackwood
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins signed free-agent right-hander Nolan Blackwood to a minor-league deal this week. Blackwood has yet to appear in the majors, but he spent the last three seasons pitching in the minors for the Detroit Tigers. The 27-year-old had a 3.81 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 19 walks and 38 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings over 44 relief appearances with Triple-A Toledo last season. In his six minor-league seasons, Blackwood has a 3.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 39 saves and 281 strikeouts in 323 2/3 innings pitched. He'll strictly provide relief depth for Minnesota's bullpen in 2023 as he attempts to finally make his major-league debut.
