Twins Select Contracts of Andrew Albers, Kyle Barraclough
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins selected the contracts of pitchers Andrew Albers and Kyle Barraclough from Triple-A on Thursday, the team announced in a press release. These were the corresponding moves to the placement of Lewis Thorpe on the 10-day injured list and the optioning of Edgar Garcia to Triple-A. Albers has not pitched in the majors since 2017, where he went 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA, 1.293 WHIP and 20.8 percent strikeout rate over 41 innings with Seattle. He's looked decent at Triple-A this year, going 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.297 WHIP and 19.8 percent strikeout rate over 91 innings of work. Meanwhile, Kyle Barraclough has not pitched in the majors since 2019, but he's looked pretty solid at Triple-A this year, where he's gone 7-1 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.056 WHIP and 38.7 percent strikeout rate over 36 innings between Minnesota and New York's system. Barraclough could be a decent play in SV/HLD formats, while Albers is a potential streaming option in deeper formats.
