Twins Release Matt Shoemaker
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker was released from the club. Shoemaker was a low-risk signing this past offseason, though it certainly didn't work out the way the Twins or potential fantasy investors hoped, as he recorded a career-worst 8.03 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings. The veteran righty did rebound to pitch well in four Triple-A starts before his release, recording a 1.80 ERA, but his fantasy value remains low at the moment. The rebuilding Twins will get to see what they have in their young crop of pitching prospects over the last couple of months of the season.
