Twins In The Mix For Nelson Cruz
6 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have entered the mix for free-agent designated hitter Nelson Cruz. The Astros, Rays and possibly the White Sox are also interested. Cruz will turn 39 years old next July after hitting .256/.342/.509 with 37 home runs and 97 RBI in 144 games with the Mariners last season. Despite his advanced age, Cruz can still mash the ball and will remain in a DH role in order to keep him healthy. He has had at least 37 home runs in each of the last five years, including 40 or more dingers in three of those years. While you shouldn't expect him to reach 40 homers again, Cruz can provide nice power for fantasy owners if he lands on a team that can give him regular DH at-bats.
