Twins Decline Option On Alex Colome
3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins declined a 2022 option on relief pitcher Alex Colome, who will become a free agent. Colome signed on with the Twins last offseason to close, though it was a tale of two halves for the veteran, as his season got off to a disastrous start before he finished the year strong, pitching to a 3.51 ERA in 33 1/3 innings while picking up 15 of his 17 saves. The underlying numbers weren't particularly kind to Colome, though he should still attract some suitors in free agency as a veteran capable of working the late innings. He could have some late-round appeal in saves/holds leagues, depending on where he lands.
