Twins Bring Up Brock Stewart
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins selected the contract of right-hander Brock Stewart from Triple-A St. Paul and designated pitcher Trevor Megill for assignment in a corresponding move on Tuesday. Stewart, 31, will be making his first appearance in the big leagues since splitting time with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays back in 2019, when he had a rough 9.82 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 25 2/3 relief innings. He had Tommy John surgery during his time away from the big leagues, but he looks to be healthy now after allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking only two and fanning 17 batters in 8 2/3 relief innings for St. Paul before his call-up. The hard-throwing Stewart will beef up Minnesota's bullpen.
