Tutu Atwell Could Get More Opportunities
6 months agoLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said this week that Tutu Atwell is ready to get more opportunities with Puka Nacua (knee) sidelined. McVay noted that with Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson as the outside receivers, Atwell, Tyler Johnson, and rookie Jordan Whittington all have similar skill sets that can complement Kupp and Robinson. While Johnson was the standout in Week 1 against the Lions once Nacua exited, McVay's thoughts hint that it could be Atwell who comes through in Week 2 against the Cardinals. It would be speculative to add Atwell because of these comments but it is a situation that is worth monitoring and could fluctuate each week while Nacua misses time. Right now Johnson is the popular waiver-wire add but maybe Atwell will be next week.

Tutu Atwell "Unlikely" To Return To Los Angeles
1 month agoAccording to Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com, wide receiver Tutu Atwell is unlikely to return to the Los Angeles Rams for the 2025 season. Atwell will hit the free-agent market but is not expected to pursue a reunion with the Rams. During his four-year tenure in Los Angeles, Atwell was typically deployed as a rotational piece in the wide receiver room. This past season, he set a career-high in yards (562) but did not find the back of the end zone. Atwell played in just under 40% of the team's offensive snaps and saw two or fewer targets in 10 of his games. The Rams could have a new wide receiver room in 2025 as the team is expected to pursue a trade for Cooper Kupp, and No. 3 wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will be a free agent. Atwell will likely find a new suitor and be deployed as a No. 3/No. 4 option that carries little fantasy value. If Atwell were to leave Los Angeles, Jordan Whittington and Tyler Johnson could have an increased role during the 2025 season.

Tutu Atwell Leads Rams In Targets Against Seattle
2 months agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell had a team-high eight targets in the Rams' Week 18 loss to the Seahawks, but he only managed to total 37 yards on his five catches. The third-year receiver played 55% of the team's offensive snaps, which was only the third-highest mark at receiver, but he got plenty of attention from backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Atwell finishes the season with new career bests of 42 receptions and 562 yards, although he failed to find the end zone this season. After Sunday's busy game, he will return to his regular role next week with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp available to work with Matthew Stafford in the Wild Card Round against the Vikings.

Tutu Atwell Lined Up For A Larger Role
2 months agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell could be set for a much bigger workload this week against the Seahawks since the Rams are resting Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp for the playoffs. Atwell ranks third on the team with 37 catches on the season and 525 receiving yards. He has yet to find the end zone this season but has shown some big-play ability with a 50-yard catch and an average of 14.2 yards per catch on the year. The third-year receiver could set a new career-best with three catches on Sunday and has already established a personal best in receiving yards. With Nacua and Kupp resting, he could be one of the top targets in offense for fill-in QB Jimmy Garoppolo. He's a high-risk play with an unknown workload, but he does have potential to deliver a big game to finish the season.

Tutu Atwell Has Deep Sleeper Potential Against San Francisco
3 months agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell has multiple catches in three straight games coming into Thursday night's road clash with the 49ers. Against the Bills last week, he reeled in all three of his targets for 45 yards, his highest total since Week 7 against the Raiders. In his first matchup with the 49ers this season, Atwell hauled in four catches for a season-high 93 receiving yards. In that game, the Rams were without target magnets Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, though, who get most of the targets in the current offense. Atwell could still play an increased role again this week, though, with Demarcus Robinson (shoulder) and Jordan Whittington (shoulder) both questionable. Atwell is RotoBaller's WR85.
