Troymaine Pope Vying For Roster Spot
6 years agoHouston Texans running back Troymaine Pope was a big part of Houston's offense in the team's preseason opener, accounting for 65 yards on nine catches against the Chiefs. He'll need to keep putting in effort if he wants to make Houston's 53 man roster at the end of the preseason, but Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers will provide him with another chance to impress the team. With Texans head coach Bill O'Brien already announcing that the starters won't see an increase in playing time this week, Pope should figure heavily into the team's game plan in the second half. After impressing his coaches throughout camp, a solid performance could help Pope beat out Tyler Ervin for the final running back spot. Pope should be a solid DFS play on Saturday.
