Tristan Jarry Gets Another Start On Thursday
4 years agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry remains the team's starter on Thursday against the Islanders. The 25-year-old has dropped four of his last five starts, but Casey DeSmith has been battling an illness, so the Penguins go with Jarry again. He owns a 3-5-1 record for the season with a 3.74 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage. Jarry is a very unreliable option for fantasy managers, especially in a matchup that has seen the Penguins take seven L's in the last nine meetings.

Tristan Jarry Picks Up Third Straight Victory
3 weeks agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry picked up his third-straight victory on Thursday evening, stopping 33 of the 36 shots he saw en route to defeating the St. Louis Blues. The Blues dominated the contest early, logged 16 shots in the opening frame, but Jarry kept the door shut. In the second, St. Louis forward Zack Bolduc would find the back of the net on the power play. Then in the third, St. Louis would score their second power-play goal, this time on a Dylan Holloway slap shot. Later in the frame, Alexey Toropchenko would also score during 5-on-5 play. Since returning to the NHL, Jarry has held a perfect 3-0 record with a .942 save percentage and a 1.99 GAA. He has entered streaming conversation given his recent surge. He will look to stay hot on Saturday afternoon against the New Jersey Devils.

Tristan Jarry Starting On Tuesday
3 weeks agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry will get the starting nod for the second-straight contest on Tuesday evening to face the Vegas Golden Knights. After spending the past two months in the AHL, Jarry bounced-back in his first outing since January as he stopped 20 of the 30 shots he saw en route to defeating the Minnesota Wild. Jarry will now cover the starter's crease against the Golden Knights. Before his strong showing on Sunday, Jarry held a 0-3-2 record over his last five NHL contests with a 2.85 GAA and a .881 save percentage. Through 23 NHL contests this season, the 29-year-old has posted a 9-8-4 record with a disappointing 3.20 GAA and a .888 save percentage. Despite his excellent outing, he is best to fade in DFS this evening facing a potent Vegas offense and playing behind a weak Pittsburgh defense.

Tristan Jarry Placed On Waivers
3 months agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry was placed on waivers Wednesday. The move came after Jarry gave up two third-period goals inside a minute in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat to Seattle, marking another low point in a tough campaign. The 29-year-old has won only eight of 22 appearances, allowing 3.31 goals with a .886 save percentage. Jarry is only in the second season of a five-year, $26.875 million contract. With Jarry now out of the picture, Alex Nedeljkovic, who boasts a 7-7-4 record for the season, will become the Penguins starter. Joel Blomqvist will be called up from the minors to serve as the No. 2 option in the crease.

Tristan Jarry Stops 31 Shots On Friday
4 months agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced en route to defeating the Boston Bruins on Friday evening. This was Jarry's best outing of the campaign and his first time allowing just one goal. His lone mistake came in the opening minutes on a wrist shot from Bruins center Charlie Coyle. Jarry was then sharp for the remainder of the evening and led the way as the Penguins captured victory in a row. Entering this game, Jarry carried a rough 3.72 GAA and .885 SV%. While fantasy managers in shallow formats should still start Jarry with caution, this could be a nice building-off point for the 29-year-old. Fantasy managers should expect Alex Nedeljkovic to get the start on Saturday evening, setting Jarry up to face the Florida Panthers on Tuesday evening.
