Trey Sweeney Stays Hot In First Game In The Second Half
4 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect Trey Sweeney went 4-for-5 with a double and home run in the first game out of the All-Star Break. This game extended Sweeney's current hitting streak to four games. In addition, he has only gone hitless twice since the start of July. This is a great sign, as the former first-round pick struggled through June, carrying a .228 AVG. Overall, through his first 88 games at Triple-A, the Eastern Illinois product has posted a solid .249/.331/.427 line with 13 long balls. If Sweeney continues to stay hot at the plate, he could contend for a late-season major league debut.
