Trey Sermon Scores For Second Week In A Row
1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Trey Sermon took five carries for 54 yards, scored a touchdown, and added a 14-yard reception during the team's 18-18 preseason tie with the Cleveland Browns. The 24-year-old fumbled on the catch-and-run deep into the second quarter but made up for it with his play during the second half. He burst up the field and evaded defenders during the third quarter's first drive for a 33-yard touchdown run. The fumble will do him no favors in making the final 53-man roster. However, it has been the lone blemish on what has been a solid preseason for the former 49er. Veteran Boston Scott has recorded only one touch all preseason and went backward one yard with it. These two seem to be in a dogfight for the final spot in the running back room, and it will be something to monitor next Thursday when the Eagles face the Colts.
