Trey Sermon Released By Eagles
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Eagles are releasing running back Trey Sermon ahead of the 53-man roster cutdown deadline on Tuesday. Sermon had his moments this offseason, but couldn't hold onto a roster spot in a crowded running back room consisting of Rashaad Penny, D'Andre Swift, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott. The 2021 third-round pick didn't last long with the San Francisco 49ers and handled just two carries for 19 yards last season with the Eagles. His future in the NFL and as a fantasy asset is looking as bleak as ever. That said, a flurry of running back injuries around the league could spring him into action at some point.
