Trey Sermon Has Worked With Starting Offense
1 year agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Trey Sermon has reportedly been given first-team reps at training camp. The 2021 third-round pick struggled mightily as a San Francisco 49er, rushing 41 times for 167 yards and one touchdown in nine games before being released after his rookie campaign. Philadelphia claimed him off waivers ahead of the 2022 season, but he handled just two carries for 19 yards. Rashaad Penny and D'Andre Swift should operate as the two lead backs for the defending NFC Champions, but if Sermon continues to have a great camp, he could muddy up the backfield touch share a bit. That said, it's important not to overreact to training camp touches and hype, so this is a "wait and see" situation.
