Trey Mancini Getting Another Day Off Tuesday
2 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Trey Mancini is taking a seat on the bench for Tuesday's matchup against Ken Waldichuk and the Oakland Athletics. It's his second day off over the past five games, and he's struggling at the dish with a .196 batting average and .470 OPS. Luis Torrens is taking his spot in the lineup, batting ninth at designated hitter. The 26-year-old is slashing .300/.364/.300 with no home runs in eight contests. Over his six seasons in the Majors, Torrens only has one above-average offensive season in terms of wRC+ and posted just a .581 OPS last season, so chances are there are better bat options on the wire.
