Trey Lipscomb To Make MLB Debut Saturday
8 months agoWashington Nationals infield prospect Trey Lipscomb will make his MLB debut Saturday versus the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Hunter Greene. The 23-year-old was promoted from Double-A on Thursday and will start at third base and hit ninth in his big-league debut. Lipscomb's promotion was due to the fact utility player Nick Senzel fractured his right thumb prior to Opening Day on Thursday. A 2022 third-round pick, Lipscomb spent the 2023 season between High-A and Double-A, combining to hit .272 with 14 home runs and 10 stolen bases across 129 games and 547 trips to the plate. He should split time at the hot corner with Ildemaro Vargas moving forward.
