2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (ankle) is done for the year, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The signal-caller broke his ankle during the Week 2 matchup against the Seahawks and needed to be carted off the field. It's a tough blow for the 22-year-old, who received plenty of hype heading into the 2022-23 campaign. Instead, he will undergo surgery on Monday, so the Niners will turn to veteran Jimmy Garoppolo to handle things under center for the remainder of the year. Garoppolo has always been a hit-or-miss performer, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect consistent production out of him.
