2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (finger) was forced to change his throwing grip last season. The young signal-caller suffered a hairline finger fracture that never healed properly. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Lance suffered the injury during the 2021 preseason and had to change everything he did with the football. The former No. 3 overall pick has experienced some bad luck early in his career. Despite that, he'll likely begin the season as the starter with Brock Purdy (elbow) still recovering. It's uncertain what the 49ers are going to do once Purdy and Lance are both healthy. Honestly, trading Lance seems like the best solution, but it remains to be seen what the 49ers decide to do.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
