1 year agoAnaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras and defenseman Jamie Drysdale were both not in attendance for the club's opening day of training camp on Thursday. Both youngsters are without new contracts as they skate in their third and final season of their three-year entry-level deals and are set to hit restricted free agency at season's end. Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek said "There's constant talk and so you just work through it" but his team remains without two core young players heading into training camp. Zegras, 22, notched 23 goals and 65 points across 81 games in his sophomore season last year while Drysdale, 21, skated in just eight games before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in late October.--Brenton Kemp
