Trevor van Riemsdyk To Miss Second Straight Game Friday
1 year agoWashington Capitals defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk (lower body) will miss his second straight game on Friday against the Devils and presumably another on Saturday night against the New York Islanders after not traveling with the club for the two-game road trip. The 32-year-old was injured early in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets and remains day-to-day at this point. van Riemsdyk has skated in 10 games for the Capitals this season, recording one assist along with 19 blocked shots while averaging 17:35 of ice time per game, although the latter is skewed by skating just 1:34 on Saturday before getting injured. Through 541 career NHL games, van Riemsdyk has notched 24 goals and 113 points while blocking a hefty 839 shots in that time.
