Trevor Story Could Return As Early As This Weekend
1 year agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the team will consider bringing shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) back this weekend. Story is playing shortstop, designated hitter and shortstop again the next three days on his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester. It's possible the Red Sox bring him back sooner, but his timing is off at the plate and they want to make sure he's fully ready when he makes his 2023 big-league debut. The 30-year-old has gone 2-for-8 with a home run in three rehab games with Double-A Portland. The two-time All-Star hasn't played for Boston since late last season, so fantasy managers may want to temper expectations for him once he's back. The good news is that he's going to operate as the team's starting shortstop immediately upon his return.
