Trevor Story 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Health Questions Cloud Power-Speed Potential
23 mins agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story enters 2025 healthy after three injury-riddled years to open his Beantown tenure. Last year saw him suffer a fractured left shoulder on a diving stop in his eighth game, adding another freak injury to his ledger. Story endured a hairline fracture in his right wrist back in '22 that wasn't properly diagnosed for another couple of weeks and missed four months of '23 in order to stabilize his right elbow's UCL. Great defense secures the job but he's hit .232 with 21 home runs and 29 steals over 163 scattered games for the BoSox. The power and speed track, but the dip in batting average and surge in strikeouts since leaving Coors Field hurts. Has Story been allowed to find a groove in Boston? He hit 16 HRs with 13 SBs and a .238 average in 94 games back in his last semi-complete season ('22). Story also managed to go 17-for-63 (.270) with two homers, four doubles, and five steals in 18 games last year after returning in September. And his shoulder should have more power in it after a full offseason. Now 32 years old and still calling a top-three hitter's park (for right-handers) home, Story is an intriguing upside pick around his 250 ADP. Early ATC projections grant 13 homers and 19 steals over just 113 games. He'll be more enticing in managed leagues with FAAB rather than best ball given the recent durability woes.
