Trevor Rosenthal Won't Be Ready For Opening Day
2 years agoThe Detroit Tigers will take their time ramping up relief pitcher Trevor Rosenthal in spring training to make sure that he stays healthy. Manager A.J. Hinch didn't put a timetable on Rosenthal's readiness for games and said "Opening Day is not something that's feasible." "It does not matter when he's ready, as long as he's healthy." Rosenthal isn't dealing with any injury currently, but he's had a long list of ailments in recent seasons. The 32-year-old just signed a minor-league deal with Detroit over the weekend. Thoracic outlet syndrome has kept him out of the big leagues since the shortened 2020 season, so it's anyone's guess as to how effective he'll be with the Tigers in 2023.
