Trevor Rosenthal Suffers Cramp During Showcase
2 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher Trevor Rosenthal (hamstring) hit 95-96 mph during his showcase on Tuesday but ended the session with a cramp in his hamstring area. Fourteen major league teams were in attendance during his session on Tuesday. The hard-throwing 32-year-old right-hander could land with a team soon as long as his hamstring isn't a long-term concern. Rosenthal rebounded in 2020 with the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres, posting a 1.90 ERA and 0.84 WHIP while walking only eight and striking out 38 batters in 23 2/3 relief innings, but the injury bug bit him again and he missed all of last year. If he signs with another team, it's likely to be on a minor league deal.
