Trevor Rogers Strikes Out Season-High Eight
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rogers improved to 2-4 on the campaign Saturday night as his club defeated the Brewers 9-3. The left-hander struck out a season-high eight batters while allowing one run on five hits and no walks in the 103-pitch effort. His only blemish of the contest came against the second batter of the game as Willy Adames took him deep for just the third long ball he's allowed all season. It's been a slow start otherwise for the 24-year-old who owns a 4.45 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through seven starts, although he's now strung together back-to-back strong performances. Rogers will look to keep his momentum going in a home date with the Braves next weekend.
