Trevor Rogers Lands On Injured List Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rogers (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with lower back spasms, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. De Nicola reports that Rogers felt something while throwing a bullpen session on Friday, and while he said he was OK the team opted to exercise caution with their star pitcher, who is 7-6 with a 2.37 ERA, 1.091 WHIP and 29.1 percent strikeout rate over 106 1/3 innings of work this season. It's unclear who the Marlins will turn to for Rogers' spot in the rotation while he's out, but it's possible the corresponding roster move will be the activation of Brian Anderson from the injured list. At any rate, managers shouldn't worry too much about Rogers, as it looks like it'll be a minimal stay on the IL.
