Trevor May Shuts The Door To Earn Save
4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Trevor May was called out of the bullpen to pitch the ninth after fellow reliever Caleb Thielbar ran out of gas. May came into the game after the Pirates scored two runs and got two quick outs on five pitches to notch his first save of the 2020 season. May has looked really sharp in 2020 so far, with eight strikeouts and a 1.93 ERA across 4.2 innings pitched. Manager Rocco Baldelli didn't want to use closer Taylor Rogers after he had pitched on Monday but it was interesting that he didn't go to Sergio Romo, who has two saves already. Rogers is the one to own out of the Minnesota bullpen but May and Romo could factor into the DFS equation on days after Rogers has pitched.
