Trevor May Roughed Up On Monday
3 years agoAfter a stellar July in which New York Mets relief pitcher Trevor May posted a 2.38 ERA and was called upon to close games for a struggling Edwin Diaz, May has had a brutal August. On Monday, his August slide continued against the San Francisco Giants. In one inning of work, May allowed three earned runs on three hits, including two home runs, and one walk. May has now posted an unsightly 11.81 ERA and a 1.88 WHIP over six games in August (5 1/3 innings pitched). Though May remains a fantasy option in leagues that reward holds, fantasy managers may wish to fade him until he can show signs of breaking out of his recent slump. On the season, May owns a 4.17 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and has posted 65 strikeouts in 45 1/3 IP with four saves and 10 holds.
